Anxiety: A Marvel Escape

Dear Marvel Cast,

Marvel is a collection of films that I never thought I would fall in love with. I was the little girl who was in love with Barbie and Disney Princesses. I can’t tell you what it was like watching my first marvel movie because, to be honest, I don’t remember a time where I didn’t watch them. However, the one thing that I can tell you is that it has changed my life.

I am someone who struggles a lot with anxiety and depression. I find it hard to get through a day without having a panic attack or feeling like my life is a waste, but that all changed when I found Marvel.

It wasn’t just the films themselves. It was also the actors, too. I went beyond the movies and began watching YouTube videos full of bloopers, or Tom Hiddleston pretending to play jokes.

These films have done so much for me without even knowing it. Day in and day out, they save my life. I’ll have an off day, but then I’ll pull up YouTube and there will be Robert Downy Jr. in a bunny costume, or Sabastion Stan on a hike through a forest.

There are no amount of words that could even begin to say how grateful I am for these heroes. In the movies, they play people with extraordinary minds, powers, or abilities. They may not have any of these powers in our world, but they are heroes. They save my life day after day, and are a safe haven for those who need a laugh, or need to feel like they are a part of something greater.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much they mean to me. We really don’t deserve them. They have no idea who I am or what life has thrown at me, but yet they still found a way to make my small life better with every word. Finding something that gives you pure joy is very rare. To some people they are just movies and actors but to me, they are Gods. If there is a higher power or being, I thank them for bringing us such amazing, astonishing, and incredible people.

Josh Brolin and Tom Hiddleston even found a way to make everyone fall in love with the villains they play. The actors seem to know just the amount of emotion to put into certain scenes to make you cry or scream because of how angry we are at certain characters.

I think the people I am most thankful for are Joss Whedon, Stan Lee, and the Russo Brothers. You are the people who made this all possible, along with all of the actors:

Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen Jaremy Renner, Paul Betterman, Gweneth Paltrow, Don Chesley, Jon Favreau, Chadwick Boseman, Josh Brolin, Karen Gillan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Mackie, Zoe Saldana, Sebastian Stan, Vin Diesel, Dave Batista, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Letitia Wright, Pom Klementieff, Evangeline Lilly, Tessa Thompson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Marisa Tomei and Terri Notary.

Like I said before, there are no amount of words that could say exactly how thankful I am for all of these people. I live life day by day trying to get through everything that is going on, but these people make it just that much easier. Their movies are everything to me. I hold them really close to my heart. It hurts to think what life would be like without these people or the amazing work they have done in the movies.

You wanna talk about God’s? Thor doesn’t stand half as tall as Chris Hemsworth. Tony Stark is barely half the man Robert Downy Jr is. Natasha Romanoff wishes she was half as brave and stunning as Scarlett Johansson is. Clint and Scot wish they had a bromance that is as sweet and beautiful as Jeremy Renner and Paul Rudd’s. Steve Rogers will never be as charming and strong as Chris Evans. Peter Parker will never be as sweet or kind-hearted as Tom Holland. Bucky Barns wishes he was half the man that Sabastian Stan is. Sam Willson wishes he was as kind, funny, and handsome as Anthony Mackie. Wanda Miximoff wishes she was as powerful, stunning or funny as Elizabeth Olsen. Bruce Banner may be The Incredible Hulk, but he will never be as smart or funny, and will never tie his shoes as many times as Mark Ruffalo. All of these character’s spark inspiration for many short stories and books.

So, I guess this is a very long thank you for absolutely everything you have done and all of the parts you have played in many people’s lives. Please don’t change anything. We all love you just the way you are and wish you the best. We hope that life brings you everything that you deserve because you are nothing like the characters you play. Heck, you’re a trillion times better.
